Lost map progress.
I recently started playing GWs after a year break.
I'd completed EotN on two characters, but both of their Asuran area map progress was halted at Umbral Grotto.
Zoning with my Warrior into Verdant Cascades somehow unlocked all areas, but when I did the same with my Sin the areas remained locked.
I'm not too fussed, as I need to vanquish the areas anyway, I was just wondering if this is a common issue and if there's a reliable fix?
Thanks.

Are you sure your looking in the right place?
The rest of the Asuran map isnt west of umbral, its in the southwest of the map.

You need to go through Vloxen Excavations to get to the rest of Asuran space.

Yes, I'm very sure. And I know the way I need to go.
As I said, zoning to VC on my war reinstated all previously unlocked progress, while zoning on my sin (who has covered the entire of EotN), did nothing.
I'll try moving though Excavations to be sure.

Ok, zoning to Vlox opened all previous progress.
Still no idea why it would lock itself in the first place though, anyone?

Happened again. Jumped from Rata to GtoB to make a trade, from GtoB to LA and all progress past Umbral is locked again.
Zoning to vlox will most likely fix this, but it's getting very annoying.
Surely if data was corrupt this wouldn't be the only symptom?

I don't know - .dat corruption is an odd thing. Sometimes it can mean missing textures, sometimes missing animations, and maybe sometimes borked maps.
It's annoying to find out if it is .dat corruption - will involve -imaging yourself >3GB of new .dat, which can be a pain if you're on a slow connection or have limited downloads.

Alright, thanks. I'll replace the file after the event weekend, see how that helps.
Thanks for the replies.

OK, still happening.
To clarify: whenever I leave Rata Sum, my map progress gets cut back to Umbral Grotto.
I've deleted and downloaded everything again and it didn't fix a thing.
Any other ideas on why this might be?

Now this is weird.. You actually uninstalled GW, re-installed it and used the -image? If so, then I suppose you should contact support because this is clearly not a problem caused from your PC or anything and even if your dat was corrupted, it should be allright now. Unless you have bad sectors on your HD, but it is highly unlikely.

Yep, did all of the above. I'll send them a mail and update here if I find a solution.
